Kokubun-ji temple
Izumi-no-Kuni had not had Kokubun-ji temple because Izumi-no-Kuni was separated from Kawachi-no-Kuni in 757. Shoku Nihon Kouki (classical Japanese History texts) is saying that Anraku-ji temple was raised to higher status as Kokubun-ji temple, Izumi State-supported provincial temple in 839. “Senshu-shi”, a history book about Izumi Province tells that there remain the foundation stones of the main hall, the tower and the middle gate, however, actually only remains the main hall.
Old roof tiles in the early Nara period were excavated from the precinct.
