Zenjaku-ji temple
Zenjaku-ji temple has continued missionary work of Sakamoto-dera temple in Asuka period (from late 6th century to early 7th century). By the excavation in 1966 confirmed the arrangement of temple buildings of Horyu-ji style.
It is said that it was burnt down in the war in the period of Warring States. So any of old buildings don’t exist but “Toshin-so”, a central base stone of the pagoda moved to the precinct of the temple has a typical characteristic of Asuka period.
The main temple houses a lot of Buddha from Heian period to Muromachi period, which tell us a long history of Zenjaku-ji temple. This temple is also famous for having divine favor in senility prevention.
