Izumi Inoue shrine
“Izumi Shimizu” handed down as the origin of the name of Izumi is said to be a wonder-working spring gushed out in a night when Empress Zingu dispatched troops. It had been revered as a miraculous fountain and used as tea ceremony by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It is designated as Osaka prefectural historic site.
There is also a Shinto shrine dedicated to the five shrines, such as Otori, Izumi Anashi, Tsugawa, Hine and Hijiri in its precinct and it is called the Izumi-Gosha-Soja. Main shrine is said to be reconstructed by Toyotomi Hideyori in 1605 and is designated as Japan’s important cultural property.
