Hakata-han JINYA, which is a living space for the lord of a manor and his vassals

It was in 1728 that JINYA for Watanabe Family, hereditary daimyo, was located in Hakatayama.

It was a large-scale construction with JINYA facilities in Meiwa era（around 1770）.JINYA was enclosed with a mud wall and had a moat in front of Ote-mon gate. Machiba（an urban area） seemed to have been formed along the Oguri Road.

There stands a monument of domain of Hakata dwelling site at the corner of the old JINYA.
