National historic site Ikegami-Sone Ruins

The community sites surrounded by a moat with the nation’s largest scale in Yayoi period are both between Ikegami-cho Izumi City and Sone-cho Izumiotsu City with gross area 600,000m² The community surrounded by circular moat which has a diameter of over 300m was designated as a national historic spot.

A large sized building and a well in the village in Yayoi period named “Izumi-no-Takadono” and “Yayoi-no-Oido” were reconstructed and opened to the public in the park of historic remains.

There are Ikegami-Sone Yayoi Learning hall where we can experience hands-on learning and Osaka Prefectural Museum of Yayoi Culture which is the only special museum on Yayoi period in Japan around Ikegami-Sone historic site park.
